SJRCC announces tuition payment plan

St. Johns River Community College will soon offer students an alternative means of paying their tuition. Beginning this fall, eligible students will have the opportunity to enroll in a tuition payment plan through the National Education Loan Network in an effort to ease, for some, the difficulty of paying for classes upon registration, according to Al Little, SJRCC Vice President of Business Affairs.

"SJRCC is pleased to offer a payment plan option to help students who do not have access to the total tuition amount prior to the start of classes," Little said. "We do not want to lose a prospective student for any reason, and this plan alleviates one reason some students have not attended in past terms."

The "TIPS" plan will allow students to defer a percentage of their tuition and fees until several weeks into the term, depending on the selected plan. There are no loan or finance charges in this plan, while the plan itself includes a nonrefundable $35 fee per semester. Students may set up the automatic monthly payment either by credit card or by a withdrawal from a bank account. Also available is an option to pay all fees with an electronic check from your bank account for a $2 charge.

To be eligible for the "TIPS" plan, students must have a minimum tuition balance due of $100. Enrollment in the plan is optional, and students can continue to pay with all previously available methods. Students may enroll in "TIPS" on the College's Web portal, "MySJRCC."

Fall registration for new students will begin on July 17. Open registration will begin on August 18. Classes for the fall term begin August 25.
