Florida School of the Arts announces its 2007-08 season

Florida School of the Arts is pleased to offer a variety of performing and visual arts to enlighten and entertain the community with its 2007-08 season. Scheduled performances will include a British musical farce, a Pulitzer Prize-winning melodramatic comedy and a classic coming-of-age story.

The visual arts calendar will be as equally diverse with gallery shows exhibiting drawings, paintings and sculptures from various artists, alumni and students.

FloArts Dean Gary Piazza, Ph.D. said he is excited to begin the visual arts season with former FloArts student Michael Everett. "Michael will present his masterful drawings. The attention to detail in his work is absolutely astonishing, and I might add that Michael is also the new art instructor at Palatka High School," Piazza said.

"In the theatre realm, we will kick off the fall theatre season with the musical "Lucky Stiff" by Linda Ahrens, which should be a lot of fun to perform as well as watch," Piazza said. "We are also anticipating the faculty debut of the exquisite art of Michael Burban, who will be exhibiting with fellow fine arts faculty Aaron Alexander, Charles Marsh and Sarah Alexander in February," he said. "Then this April we will head up to the SJRCC Orange Park Campus and perform ÔBarefoot in the ParkÕ at the lovely Thrasher-Horne Center for the Arts."
