SJRCC Names Director of Campus Safety

The St. Johns River Community College Board of Trustees recently approved the appointment of David Stout to the position of Director of Campus Safety.

Prior to this appointment, Stout worked as a criminal investigator for the State Attorney's Office. Stout's experience includes 14 years as the Putnam County Undersheriff. He is a Palatka resident and an SJRCC alumni. Stout's education also includes the FBI National Academy.

Stout will oversee the day-to-day operations of campus-wide security that provides a safe, secure, and orderly environment in which teaching, learning, and administrative functions of the College operate.

SJRCC President Dr. Robert L. McLendon Jr. said, "We are extremely fortunate to have David Stout as our new chief of security. He brings to this position a wealth of knowledge and experience in law enforcement. He will be responsible for our operations in all three of our counties, and I am certain that he will continue to build his relationships with law enforcement agencies in our district," McLendon said.

St. Johns River Community College has campuses in Orange Park, Palatka and St. Augustine and a branch center in Ponte Vedra Beach. In addition, SJRCC operates the Florida School of the Arts and the Thrasher-Horne Center for the Arts on the Orange Park Campus.
