SJRCC PRESS RELEASE August 2007 SJRCC criminal justice program gets perfect audit The SJRCC Board of Trustees was recently presented with audit results from the colleg's criminal justice program on the St. Augustine Campus. Director of criminal justice training Scott Lancaster presented board members and SJRCC President Dr. Robert L. McLendon Jr. with a certificate of a perfect program/fiscal audit. Auditors from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement conducted the annual audit in April on areas such as facility evaluations, instructional content and fiscal spending for the law enforcement and corrections basic recruit programs during the 2005-2006 fiscal year. The audit also included SJRCC's continuing education classes for certified officers. Lancaster, who joined SJRCC in April of 2005, credited his team of instructors and professionals for the audit results. "We are blessed to have a full-time and adjunct staff who are truly committed to professional training and to producing the highest level of recruits to serve Northeast Florida," Lancaster said. During the 2005-2006 fiscal year, more than 900 officers attended the 48 classes ranging from homicide investigations to interviewing techniques in the continuing education classes, and 46 correctional and 106 law enforcement students graduated from the basic recruit programs. The audit results were given to the criminal justice program by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission at its quarterly meeting this month. The SJRCC criminal justice program offers day and evening basic recruit classes for law enforcement and corrections. Continuing education classes are offered year-round.
