NEW FOR SUMMER 2010!
SJRCC YEAR-ROUND PELL GRANT POLICY AND INFORMATION
Beginning with the summer of 2010 students may be eligible to receive a Pell Grant award in excess of the normal annual maximum. This means that Pell-eligible students will now have the opportunity to receive up to three full time semester awards, as opposed to the previous policy in which students enrolled full time fall and spring would have used up all their available Pell funding by the end of spring.

During this initial year, St. Johns River Community College will be evaluating the student's eligibility from the 2009-2010 aid year only to determine eligibility for the summer semester.

Specific eligibility criteria for the extra award includes:
  • Must be enrolled at least 6 credit hours in the summer (summer is treated as one semester for financial aid).
  • By the end of spring semester, must have attempted a total number of credit hours, including preparatory and/or transfer credits, which when combined with the summer enrollment exceeds 24. Transfer credits will be calculated on the enrollment for which the Pell award was based at the prior institution.
  • Must meet all other requirements to receive a federal Pell award.
