Academic Integrity:        Students in this class must know, observe, and not compromise the principles of academic integrity. It is not permissible to cheat, to fabricate or falsify information, to submit the same academic work in more than one course without prior permission, to plagiarize, to receive unfair advantage, or to otherwise abuse accepted practices for handling and documenting information. The grade for this course includes the judgment that the student’s work is free from academic dishonesty of any type. Violations or infractions will be reported to the Vice President for Student Affairs and may lead to failure of the course and other sanctions imposed by the College.

Calculators:                   A TI 83 graphing calculator is highly recommended for this course. However, it is considered cheating to use a calculator that has stored text or equations in it on a test or quiz. Additionally, the TI 83 plus silver edition may not be used on tests or examinations.

Grading:                        A number of 10 point quizzes will be given on selected labs and/or topics throughout the semester. These quizzes are given in the first 10 minutes of lab, those of you who are late will not be given extra time. Each lab report carries a maximum of 20 points unless otherwise stated. Your final numerical grade will be the total points received from quizzes and reports divided by the total number of possible points. The grading scale will be 90-100% = A, 80-89% = B, 70-79% = C, 60-69% = D, below 60% = F.

Absences:                      As stated in the student handbook you may receive a warning with one absence and a drop from the course for the second absence. Do not just stop coming to lab without officially withdrawing - protect your GPA!
