Policy: Attendance is required at all class sessions.   Homework will be assigned on a regular basis (but not collected).  Quizzes will be based upon homework so it is for your benefit to do ALL homework assigned.  Every Thursday there will be a quiz –the quiz will cover the material learned in the previous meetings, so study well.  It is possible there will be unannounced quizzes or class activities so stay on your toes and be prepared at the beginning of every class. When writing on quizzes please be sure to write legibly and indicate all steps taken.  Clearness will affect how I read the answer and therefore may affect your grade.  Please DO NOT BE LATE for class, as you will lose participation points and will disrupt your classmates.  I will not allow make-up quizzes without an exceptional excuse. No matter the excuse the only way to take a makeup quiz is if you have emailed me (or spoken with me) and then meet me before the next class meeting.  There are NO late tests.  No calculators are allowed on quizzes or tests (maybe occasionally)!  Note that cheating, plagiarism, assisting or allowing others to violate academic honesty are all grounds for receiving an F for the entire course.  There is NO talking during class unless you are asking a question of the instructor.  Please note that quiz and test scores will never be given out via email or phone… so don’t ask!  Please talk to me during office hours to ask any other questions you may have – I am more than happy to help.
