ASSIGNMENT FOR WEEK ELEVEN

NEXT TUESDAY

The method for the Primary-Source Essay will be SUMMARIZING. Please read the Directions on Methods to see what this is.

The essay should represent a Primary Source related to Chapter 12.  We shall examine Andrew Jackson, his presidency, and legacy.  I shall also add some more information which should help you in answering the Final Examination essay question, the causes of the Civil War.

I shall also respond to any questions about the Book Review, so you are encouraged to have a book in mind when we meet on Tuesday.

SOME HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE QUIZZES OR SUBMITTED PRIMARY-SOURCE ESSAYS.  BE AWARE THAT THAT EACH QUIZ IS WORTH A MAXIMUM OF 10 POINTS AND THE PRIMARY-SOURCE ESSAY, 20 POINTS.

IF YOU SUBMITTED THE PRIMARY-SOURCE ESSAY FOR THE FIRST THREE WEEKS, YOU AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVED 20 POINTS FOR EACH ESSAY.  MOST PEOPLE HAVE THE CORRECT IDEA ABOUT WHAT A PRIMARY SOURCE IS, THE METHOD TO USE, AND HOW TO CITE INFORMATION IN THE FORM OF SEQUENTIAL FOOTNOTES.

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE YET TO SUBMIT ALL OR SOME OF THE ESSAYS, YOU CAN STILL DO SO AND RECEIVE THE 20 POINTS FOR EACH ESSAY FOR THE FIRST THREE WEEKS.

All the quizzes for chapters 1-11 are on line on this faculty page.

The Mid-term Examination is on line as well.
