CLASS
POLICIES
·
Attendance is mandatory--in accordance with SJRCC
policy. Excessive absences will result
in a lowering of the student's final grade (by up to 2 full letter grades) or
removal from the class.
STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING UP
WORK MISSED DUE TO ABSENCES WHETHER EXCUSED OR UNEXCUSED. IF THE STUDENT MISSES A CLASS FOR ANY REASON IT IS HIS/HER
RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT THE INSTRUCTOR REGARDING THE ASSIGNMENTS OR MATERIAL
MISSED.
·
Absences on test or presentation days cannot be made up
except through prior arrangement with the instructor.
·
Excessive lateness or disruptive behavior will also
result in a lowering of the student's final grade. If a student is more than 10
minutes late it may be counted as 1/2 an absence.
·
At any point during the semester the instructor may
choose to give a pop quiz on any of the material covered in the lectures,
handouts, or text.
·
Students will be graded daily on the class exercises and
homework; these grades will be tallied for the class participation grade.
·
Out of the total number of cold reading grades the 2
lowest grades will be dropped. If a
student misses a reading--whether excused or unexcused it will become one of
the drop grades. OCCASIONALLY
